The Casa de la Cultura on La Costera has art and photography exhibits, as well as handicrafts from the state of Guerrero. It also hosts theater and dance productions. Acapulco’s many art galleries and boutiques carry high-quality folk art, jewelry, and other creations by well-known Mexican artists.
Guerrero is famous for its carved wooden masks. The best collection in town is at La Casa de la Mascara next to San Diego Fort. Another must-see is the House of Delores Olmedo on Cerro de la Pinzona Street in Old Acapulco. Mexican muralist Diego Rivera, who spent the last two years of his life in Acapulco, covered the house’s entire outside wall with a mural made of seashells and colored tiles.
